In this volume, Calvin’s dad decides it’s time for him to learn to ride a bicycle, but it’s not going to be easy because the bike has other ideas. It’s not quite as simple as Calvin having a big imagination, because there are some strange overlaps between his world and that of his parents, schoolfriends and others, making it hard to determine exactly whose reality is the accurate version. Calvin lives in a vividly surreal world of his own where the stuffed toy that everyone else sees is completely alive to him, particularly when nobody else is looking. However, this is probably unlikely, as the strip in which the sign appeared came before the story arc, and that there were only 15 snow goons made.This is the seventh collection of Bill Watterson’s newspaper strip about six-year old Calvin and his best friend, a tiger called Hobbes. He made a sign sometime later stating that 40-something snowmen met "a gruesome fate" on the spot of Calvin's house. Calvin and Hobbes finally killed them by spraying them with the hose while Calvin’s Parents were sleeping around his house. Hobbes tried to aid Calvin in killing the snow goon by ambushing it with snowballs, but this proved ineffective and counterproductive, as the goon went on to create others of its kind at least one had two heads. This series began as an attempt by Calvin to bestow life on a snowman by invoking the "great and terrible snow demons." The attempt went wrong and instead of the snowman slave, servant, or butler he set out to create, Calvin got a growling, lurching, hostile monstrosity which he described to Hobbes as a " deranged mutant killer monster snow goon" (the name was used as the basis of the title of the Attack of the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster Snow Goons printed collection). They appeared in a single story arc from 12/31 1990 to 1/19 1991. A Snow Goon is a hostile, living snowman.
